The Barrington High School girls indoor track team easily outscored Pilgrim and Mount St. Charles in a regular season meet on Wednesday night, Jan. 11. 

The Eagles defeated Pilgrim, 66-42, and Mount St. Charles, 93-15. 

Sophia Ford led the way for Barrington. The junior standout set a new school record in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 4.5 inches. Ford also finished second in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.99, and ran a leg of the fifth place 4x200-meter relay team.

Ford was not the only Eagle to shine during the meeting. Caroline Reznik won the 600-meter race with a time of 1:47.22. Lily Cregan won the weight throw with a top distance of 41 feet, 1.5 inches. 

In the 3,000-meter race, Barrington’s Mia He and Jane Bryant finished in first and second place, respectively.

Indie Lamb placed fourth in a very competitive field in the 1,500-meter race with a personal best time of 5:20.88. Virginia Sanderson and Maeve Kelly finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with strong times as well.

In the high jump, Jordan Roskiewicz placed second with a personal best of 4 feet, 10 inches, and Genny Geiser was close behind in third as she jumped 4 feet, 8 inches.

Kyle Keough placed fourth in the 1,000-meter race with a season best time and Kelly came back to place seventh.

Olivia Johnson placed sixth in the 600-meter race, and Emma Marvelli was fifth in the weight throw with a personal best of 38 feet, 6.5 inches. 

Other personal bests were turned in by Roxanna Mohammadi in the 4x200 as she ran 29.3; Kitty Wang and Athlena Gao in the hurdles at 10.54 and 10.62; Mohammadi, Allie Ford and Siena Leland had bests in the 300-meters, and Reznick ran a 64.1 split in the 4x400 relay.
