Westport police logs: Two charged with DUI following stops

Wednesday, Jan. 18

Police investigated a report of a suspicious person on Perseverance Lane after getting a 911 call at 4:17 p.m.

Police pulled over six vehicles and issued four citations throughout the course of the day.

Thursday, Jan. 19

Police deemed unfounded a 911 report of a suspicious person called in from Highland Avenue at 3:30 a.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Old Bedford Road at 10:53 a.m.

A caller from Newton Street reported a missing person just after 11 a.m.

Police served a restraining order on Highland Avenue at 12:02 p.m.

A caller from Dias Street reported the theft of a motor vehicle at 12:34 p.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on Prospect Avenue at 12:52 p.m.

A Sherman Lane resident reported the violation of a restraining order at 1:58 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious person on State Road just before 7 p.m.

A caller from Rogers Street reported a suspicious car at 9:10 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles and issued three citations throughout the course of the day.

Friday, Jan. 20

A 911 caller reported an accident on State Road at 8:37 a.m.

Police assisted a disabled motorist on Old Bedford Road at 9:32 a.m.

Police served restraining orders on Main Road (9:52 a.m.) and Devol Avenue (12:46 p.m.). They tried but were unable to serve another on J Drive at 11:55 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on State Road at 3:24 p.m.

A Conserve Avenue caller reported a missing person at 4:36 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a car fire on Route 195E at 5:47 p.m. was transferred to the fire department.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued four citations throughout the course of the day.

Saturday, Jan. 21

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Reed Road at 12:48 a.m.

A 911 caller from Blossom Road reported at 9:46 a.m. that a vehicle had been broken into.

A 911 caller from State Road reported threats at 10:49 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on Faulkner Street at 11:04 a.m. They were successful after another try at 4:39 p.m.

A caller reported an accident on Reed Road at 1:04 p.m.

A 911 caller from Briggs Road lodged an animal complaint at 1:17 p.m.

Cynthia R. Howland, 64, of 666 State Road, Apt. 1A, was charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and cited for a marked lane violation, after a 911 caller reported motor vehicle violations at Route 88 and Briggs Road at 9:05 p.m.

Police pulled over eight vehicles over the course of the day, issued six citation and towed one of the vehicles involved.

Sunday, Jan. 22

A caller from Cornell Road reported a disturbance at 12:06 a.m. Another call came in from the same Street at 7:07 a.m.

Police cited a driver following an accident reported on Main Road at 2:44 a.m.

A 911 caller reported suspicious activity on Lighthouse Lane at 4:41 a.m.

Keith Oliveira, 28, of 107 Danforth St., Apt. 2, Fall River, was charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing and criminal harassment after a 911 caller reported a disturbance on State Road at 7:19 a.m.

Police served a restraining order on J Drive at 5:06 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Sanford Road at 5:20 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued six citations throughout the course of the day.

Monday, Jan. 23

A caller reported a car accident on Route 88, at Route 195, at 9:09 a.m. Another was called in from American Legion Highway at 1:42 p.m., and another at Route 88 at 3:17 p.m.

An Old Bedford Road resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud.

Police responded to Westport High School at 1:52 p.m. for an 'incident,' but did not elaborate on the nature of it.

A caller to 911 reported a suspicious person on State Road at 2:49 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a car fire on Route 195 at 3:58 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a suspicious car on State Road just before 8 p.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Drift Road at 8:51 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued three citations throughout the course of the day.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

Police assisted a disabled motorist after a 911 caller alerted them to one on Route 88, at Briggs Road, at 2:05 p.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident reported the violation of a restraining order at 2:31 p.m.

A caller from Main Road reported receiving threats at 2:35 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a structure fire on Old County Road at 2:51 p.m.

Police attempted but were unable to serve a summons on Briggs Road at 4:42 p.m. They tried again at 7:11 p.m., again with no luck.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 195 at 9:09 p.m.

Police pulled over 16 vehicles and issued 13 citations throughout the course of the day.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

A 911 caller from Charlotte White Road lodged animal complaints at 2:36 a.m.

A caller reported an accident on Main Road just after 6 a.m.

A Cornell Road resident reported a neighbor dispute at 6:07 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle and issued one citation throughout the course of the day.

Thursday, Jan. 26

A caller reported a road hazard on Route 88, at State Road, at 7:18 a.m. Police removed it.

A 911 caller from Sanford Road lodged animal complaints at 9:44 a.m.

A caller from Horseneck Road reported a neighbor dispute at 10:11 a.m.

A caller reported an accident on State Road at 11:07 a.m.

A caller from Adamsville Road reported vandalism at 5:22 p.m.

Police pulled over 12 vehicles and issued 11 citations throughout the course of the day.

Friday, Jan. 27

A caller reported a disturbance on State Road just before 8 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on Route 195 at 9:37 a.m.

A caller from Davis Road lodged animal complaints just before 10 a.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Horseneck Road at 10:35 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles and issued one citation throughout the course of the day.

Saturday, Jan. 28

A caller reported an accident on State Road at 5:40 a.m. Another was called in from Route 88, at Drift Road, at 9:44 a.m., and a third from Main Road at 11:54 a.m.

A caller lodged animal complaints from West Beach Road at 8:44 a.m.

Collin Leonel Melo, 22, of 13 Hunters Way, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, and cited for a marked lanes violation, after police pulled him over on Main Road at 11:44 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued three citations throughout the course of the day.

Sunday, Jan. 29

A caller from Cornell Road lodged animal complaints just before 11 a.m.

A caller reported a motor vehicle violation on American Legion Highway at 6:01 p.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Old Bedford Road at 8:15 p.m.

A caller reported an accident at Main Road and Benjamin Tripp Lane at 9:27 p.m.

Police pulled over nine vehicles and issued five citations throughout the course of the day.
