Westport safety workers to get vaccines next week

Vaccinations to begin Jan. 11 for first responders and safety workers

The Town of Westport has partnered with the Town of Dartmouth to coordinate a Phase 1 Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for public safety employees and first responders only. 

The clinic will provide the Moderna vaccine, which is given in two doses, 28 days apart. 

The Westport Health Department expects the first doses to be given on January 11, 2021. 

Phase II of the vaccine rollout, which is scheduled between February and April, will include individuals with a high risk of COVID complications, teachers (early education, K-12), grocery, utility, food and agriculture, sanitation, public works and public health workers and adults age 65 and older. 

“We anticipate offering future clinics but do not have any details currently,” said Matthew Armendo, director of the Westport Health Department. “As we gather more information, we will continue to update the public and staff.”
