Westport police logs: Several stolen car calls

Monday, Feb. 26

A caller reported a disabled vehicle on Charlotte White Road at 2:25 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on American Legion Highway at 4:23 p.m.

Police attempted to serve restraining orders on American Legion Highway (10:08 p.m.), James Avenue (10:24 p.m.) and Tickle Road (10:28 p.m.), but were unsuccessful at each stop.

A caller from Sanford Road reported a repossession at 11:05 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day. No citations were issued.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

A caller reported an accident on Main Road at 6:43 a.m.

A caller from State Road reported vandalism at 10:53 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a civil dispute on State Road at 11:27 a.m.

Callers reported a suspicious car on Center Street at 3:32 p.m. and again at 4:10 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a fire on Almada Street was transferred to the fire department at 4:56 p.m.

A Seabury Lane resident asked police to keep the peace at 6:35 p.m.

Police pulled over eight cars over the course of the day, issuing six citations.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

A Hix Bridge Road caller reported a stolen vehicle at 2:04 a.m. A similar call came in from the same area at 4:19 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on State Road at 8:22 a.m. A similar call came in from the same area at 3:49 p.m.

Shoplifting was reported from State Road at 5:19 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a suspicious person at 8:01 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles but issued no citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, Feb. 29

A 911 caller reported a hazard on River Road at 12:32 a.m.; a similar call came in from Highland Road about half an hour later.

A 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Newton Street at 4:25 a.m. Police said no action was required.

Animal complaints called in from Chestnut Hill Drive at 5:04 a.m. were unfounded, police determined.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Tickle Road at 9:19 a.m.

An Adamsville Road resident reported identity fraud at 11:26 a.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Friday, March 1

Animal complaints came in from Kelsey’s Way at 7:15 a.m. Similar calls came in from Main Road at 9:58 a.m., and from Drift Road at 5:29 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Sanford and State roads at 8:50 a.m.

An East Briggs Road caller reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 9:52 a.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Main Road at 11:09 a.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

A caller reported a suspicious person on Route 195 at 5:55 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, March 2

Barbara Whitney, 68, of 5 Drift Road, Apt. 1, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and cited for a marked lane violation, after police pulled her over on State Road at 12:07 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a suspicious car at State and Sanford roads at 9:14 a.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

Animal complaints came in from Old Harbor Road at 10:15 a.m., and from Adamsville Road at 8:33 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Sanford Road at 9:08 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries at American Legion Highway and Robert Street at 10:55 p.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles and issued one citation over the course of the day.

Sunday, March 3

A 911 caller reported an accident on Davis Road at 1:02 a.m.

A 911 caller from American Legion Highway reported a neighbor dispute at 8:40 a.m.

An East Beach Road resident complained of vandalism at 1:54 p.m.

Cecile Francois, 26, of 343 Judson St., Tiverton, was arrested on an unspecified warrant after police were called to Gifford Road for a well being check at 8:01 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle, but did not report issuing any citations, over the course of the day.
