Westport police logs: Disorderly conduct charge

Monday, Sept. 2

A Drift Road resident complained of a suspicious person at 10:51 a.m.

A caller from Sodom Road reported a driving infraction at 4:40 p.m.

A caller from Rita Drive reported a civil issue dispute at 5:23 p.m.

A 911 caller from Emerson Street complained of a disturbance at 7:49 p.m.

Parking enforcement officers cited six vehicles over the course of the day on East Beach Road, Hix Bridge Road, Cherry and Webb Lane and Beach Avenue.

Police pulled over two vehicles over the course of the day, issuing verbal warnings.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

A caller at Charlotte White and Main roads reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 8:35 a.m. A similar call came in from Grand Pine Way at 9:43 a.m.

A caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Gifford Road at 1:05 p.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

A caller from Old County Road reported suspicious activity at 6:11 p.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

Animal complaints came in from tickle Road at 9:30 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles over the course of the day, citing two drivers.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

Animal complaints came in from Brookwood Drive at 7:29 a.m., and from Brayton Point Road at 5:21 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Gifford Road at 9:15 a.m. A similar 911 call came in from Drift Road at 12:04 p.m.

Police checked the property after a caller from Cape Bial Way reported an open window/door at 7:50 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, Sept. 5

A Main Road resident complained of vandalism at 10:31 a.m.

Police were informed of a vehicle repossession on Old Bedford Road at 2:42 p.m.

Police were asked to keep the peace on Sanford Road at 3:20 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Friday, Sept. 6

Police tried but were unable to serve a warrant on Forge Road at 11:28 a.m.

A Banner Avenue resident reported identity fraud at 1:17 p.m.

A Sodom Road caller complained of larceny, forgery or fraud at 7:30 p.m.

A caller from Old Bedford Road reported suspicious activity at 9:52 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued three citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, Sept. 7

A caller from State Road reported suspicious activity at 10:26 a.m.

A caller from East Beach Road reported a suspicious person at 12:38 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Sunday, Sept. 8

Tyler Robert Alves, 38, of 85 O’Bannon Place, Swansea, was charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to State Road at 1:18 a.m. for a disabled vehicle.

Animal complaints came in from Highland Avenue at 4:51 p.m.

Police pulled over and cited one driver over the course of the day.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
