The Town of Westport, Office of Veterans Services, announces that the 2021 Memorial Day parade and Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 31.

Westport veterans and civic organizations are invited to march in the parade, and community residents to line the parade route, as a show of support to local veterans and as a sign of respect for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. All attendees must wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

Parade participants will gather at 9:30 a.m. at the Town Hall parking lot at 816 Main Road. The parade will commence at approximately 10 a.m. with a wreath laying at the World War I monument in front of Town Hall, then will proceed along Main Road to Beech Grove Cemetery.

There will be a memorial service at the cemetery immediately following the parade. The service is to honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Services.

For more information or group participation please contact Carol Freitas, veterans service officer, at 508-636-1028 or freitasc@westport-ma.gov.
