The Westport girls' soccer team fell to Seekonk 8-0 in the Division 4 Round-of 32 at Seekonk High School on Monday night. Goalkeeper Madison Pacheco made 14 saves for the Wildcats who dropped to 10-8-1 to end their season. 
"The girls fought hard," said Wildcats head coach Gary Muello after the game. "We were up against a very good upper-class group of bigger, faster and stronger players. The girls tried their best to keep up with Seekonk.  They Fought hard."
 
Playoff schedule
The girls field hockey team travels to Auburn High School to face Sutton in the Sweet 16 tonight at 5:30 p.m.
 
The boys soccer team hosts Seekonk in the  Round of 32 at the high school field on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
