Tiverton Police: Disseminating indecent material charged

Monday, April 12

A Windwood Drive resident called to report being scammed out of several thousand dollars.

Caitlin M. Lancia, 29, of Warwick, was arrested on three counts of narcotics possession and one charge of possessing a prohibited weapon other than a firearm. The arrest was at 3:12 am at the Tiverton Casino.

Police responded to Canonicus Street for a neighbor dispute at 4:51 pm. One participant is restrained by court order from harassing the other. 

Tuesday, April 13

Police went to Lake Road after receiving word at 1:50 pm about a horse lying down, unsure if it is alive. Officer reports that the horse is alive.

A Mill Street resident notified police about a stolen package (a suspicious vehicle was seen nearby).

A Lake Road resident reported any 6:50 pm that his girlfriend’s son tried to run him off the road.

Children playing appeared to be the cause of an 8:31 pm 911 call from Frazier Lane.

Wednesday, April 14

A 911 caller reported suspicious activity on Lewis Street, someone ran into a car from a yard. “That party was delivering mail,” an officer learned after stopping the vehicle.

An officer went to the casino after it was reported that a woman had stolen a $135 ticket. The money was returned.

Thursday, April 15

Jason A. Souza, 43, of Westport, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge at 3:41 am at the Tiverton Casino.

Police and rescue responded to Tiverton High School for a two-vehicle accident at 7:28 am. There were no injuries.

A Pocasset Avenue resident reported being scammed through Amazon.

Friday, April 16

A Bourne Mill Apartments resident called at  9:23 am to complain about a dog barking for over an hour.

A Hambly Road resident reported a dog left out in the cold. The dog was brought indoors.

At 1:44 pm, a 911 caller reported a tree and wire down and on fire across from Tiverton High School. North Brayton Road was shut down and National Grid responded.

At 2:41 pm, “Dog still barking,” at Bourne Mill Apartments (see above). The responding officer was unable to make contact with the site manager.

Celeste R. Arnold, 39, of 162 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a charge of dissemination of indecent material/pornography, at 9:07 am at a Hemlock Street address.

Police and rescue responded to a 911 report of a serious accident in the area of 646 Bulgarmarsh Road at 2:53 pm. One woman was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital, both vehicles were towed.

A suspicious vehicle with several people inside was reported in the parking lot of Sakonnet Bay Manor at 9:37 pm. No issue, an officer reported — “Nurse with husband and three kids just visiting on break.” 

Saturday, April 17

A resident called to report that someone had registered a car in her late husband’s name. “Mistake by registry,” police determined.

Ryan Patrick Hamilton, 28, of 20 Oakdale Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol concentration of .10 to .15 percent, and narcotics possession at 1:53 am on Route 24 north.

An ATV was reported in the area of Fern Way at 3:53 pm.

Valdemiro S. Lotras, 36, of B Bristol, was cited for driving with a suspended license, second offense, at 6:35 pm on Route 24 south.

Police and firefighters responded to a structure fire at Meikle Marine & Machine, 51 Eagleville Road at 10:33 pm. Several area departments assisted in fighting the fire which caused considerable damage (reported in previous issue).

Sunday, April 18

At 12:47 pm, a Lawrence Court caller reported an  “unwanted (person) in a birthday parade.”

Christopher J. St. Pierre, 53, of 600 Fish Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a bench warrant from 2nd District Court at 12:02 am on Fish Road.

Tommy Neville, 38, of Mansfield, Mass., was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test at 3:31 am on Route 24 north.

Scott A. Botelho, 21, of 501 Crandall Road, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license at 8:29 pm on Stafford Road. Police had responded to a 911 report that a vehicle had struck a pole on “Arruda’s curve.” The operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

John McElroy, 70, of 45 Atlantic Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol at 10:17 pm on Route 24 south.

Nicole D. DeOliveira, 35, of 334 Hilton St., Tiverton, was cited for driving with a suspended license, second offense, at 4:45 pm on Main Road.

Monday, April 19

A dog bite was reported at Dadson Mobile Home Park at 8:33 am.

At 11:08 am, a 911 caller reported a break-in on Stafford Road.

Firefighters responded to North Tiverton News, Main Road, at 2:27 pm for a fire alarm that proved to be a cooking mishap.

Police were called to Brayton Road at 5:53 pm for multiple cars and motorcycles drag racing in the area. Officers found no vehicles racing.

Police and rescue responded to Bourne Mill Apartments at 8:25 pm for a disturbance with yelling and banging. After officers were able to gain entry to the apartment, one person was transported to Newport Hospital.

Police dispersed multiple people in the area of Bay and Judson streets at 9:09 pm after receiving fireworks complaints.

Tuesday, April 20

At 12:27 am, officers responded to Meadow View Lane for people screaming at each other on the porch and slamming doors.

Juliene White, 34, of 109 Briggs Road, Westport, was arrested on charges of narcotics possession and obstructing a police officer at 2:33 am on Fish Road.

Flavio A. Supo, 32, of Fall River, was arrested on a bench warrant from 2nd Division District Court at 5:25 pm on Main Road.

Kyle B. Garant, 230, of Fall River, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from another department and cited for driving with a suspended license at 5:25 pm on Main Road.

At 6:42 pm, a Highland Road resident reported that two off-leash dogs are attacking his chickens.

Wednesday, April 21

At 11:18 am, police went to the area of 408 Stafford Road after a car struck a dog. No word on the condition of the dog.

Adam P. Rusin, 29, of 1 Mill St., Tiverton, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test at 2:54 am at Bourne Mill Apartments.

At 4:19 pm, a caller reported two cars driving erratically side-by-side with passenger doors open on Seapowet Avenue.

Barrels were removed from the high-speed lane of the Sakonnet River Bridge at 4:37 pm.

Juveniles racing and taunting the caller were reported on Seapowet Avenue at 4:48 pm.

Thursday, April 22

A 3:22 pm caller reported that a woman parked in a BMW outside a preschool is “chugging a bottle of wine.”

At 7:43 pm, police and rescue went to a North Court residence for a fire alarm/CO detector sounding — cars in the driveway, TV on but nobody responding. Police gained entry but found nobody inside. Reached by phone, the owner said the TV was left on for the dog. No fire or carbon monoxide was found.

Friday, April 23

Ashley R. Reiniche, 31, of Fall River, was arrested at 8:45 pm on five counts of narcotics possession and cited for driving with a suspended license in the area of 5 Main Road.

Police responded to the Tiverton Casino to assist with ejections.

Police attempterd to stop two dirt bikes in the area of State Avenue and Main Road at 7:14 pm.

Luis Lopes Resende, 29, of Brockton, Mass., was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, refusing to submit to a chemical test and disorderly conduct at 10 pm on the Tiverton Casino rotary.

Saturday, April 24

Police responded to a 5:25 pm 911 call about a neighbor dispute on Crandall Road involving lawnmower noise.

Danielle Marie Dagraca, 23, of Marshfield, Mass., was arrested on three counts of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, one count of narcotics possession, one count of carrying a pistol without a permit, and one count of possessing a firearm while delivering a controlled substance. The arrest took place at the Tiverton Casino at 9:48 pm.

Carlos Santos Dacruz-Araujo, 25, of Boston, was arrested on three counts of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, one count of narcotics possession, one count of carrying a pistol without a permit, and one count of possessing a firearm while delivering a controlled substance. The arrest took place at the Tiverton Casino at 9:48 pm.

Police and rescue responded to a 911 report of a rollover in the Route 24 median at 9:17 am. Officers found debris and tire marks but no vehicle — “Appears the vehicle took off.”

At 2:11 pm, a vehicle hit a guardrail and mailbox on Main Road. No injuries were reported.

Shawn D. Almond, 44, of Fall River, was arrested on a charge of domestic simple assault at 7:05 pm on Bulgarmarsh Road. A caller had reported a fight in progress in a car, vehicle all over the road, struck a street sign.

Monday, April 26

A vehicle struck a house at 19 Main Road at 2:29 pm, damaging the gutter, roof and a window. No injuries were reported.

Raymond Edward Wood, 52, off Fall River, was arrested on a charge of possessing a prohibited weapon other than a firearm at 7:05 pm on Crandall Road. Police had responded to a report of a man walking on Crandall Road carrying a large knife.

Joao M. Pina-Estevao, 22, of New Bedford, was arrested at 9:45 pm on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct at Longplex, Industrial Way.

Tuesday, April 27

Danae L. Garner, 25, of Newport was arrested on charges of marijuana possession (one ounce or less, 18 year or older), driving with a suspended license, speeding, littering and driving with no inspection sticker at 1:41 am on Route 24 south.
