Sold! Westport Point beachfront property — $10,000

Town buys small plot adjacent to Cherry and Webb Beach.

Prices like this aren’t common to say the least, but the Town of Westport recently purchased a tiny dunes and beachfront lot, well less than an acre in size, following a unanimous vote of the select board earlier this month.

The property is owned by the Brex Family Revocable Trust and lies just to the west of the beach access path from the town parking lot.

Westport Town Administrator James Hartnett said the plan to purchase the property has been in the works for some time, and purchase and sales and other documents have been signed.

Select board members unanimously voted to close on the purchase, which was approved by voters at the Town Meeting earlier this year.
