PORTSMOUTH — From 15 feet away they all took a deep breath, kept their eyes fixed on the hoop, bent their knees and let the ball fly.
The Knights of Columbus, Council Father Christopher S. Rooney Council, No. 3618, has announced the results of its annual Free Throw Championship which was held Feb. 8 at the Bradley School gym.
Sixteen boys and girls, ages 9 to 14, were awarded medals for winning their respective division.
In addition, grand prizes of basketballs were awarded to Braden Coyle in the boy’s division and Bailey Howell in the girl’s divison for the most baskets made.
Here are the winners in each age group, who will move on to the state finals at a future date:
Boys
• Age 9: Finnegan Craft
• Age 10: Gus Adams
• Age 11: Branden Coyle
• Age 13: Maciej Tabak
• Age 14: Aidan Tobin
Girls
• Age 10: Elle’ Valadao
• Age 12: Hailey Labonte
• Age 14: Bailey Howell
