Little Compton Police: Mask, distancing concerns

Tuesday, Sept. 22

After a 10:10 am traffic stop on Crandall Road at Bramblewood Circle, police cited a Fall River motorist for driving with a suspended license.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

A woman dropped off a wallet at the police station at 11:39 am that had been found on Willow Avenue.

Friday, Sept. 25

At 10:09 am, a motorist reported striking a deer on West Main Road — the deer ran off into the woods.

Police served a summons at a Swamp Road address at 4:20 pm.

At 9:50 am, a man came to the station to advise police that he had been harassed at a Little Compton vegetable stand on the previous Sunday when he asked a man to put on a mask and respect social distancing.

At 5:16 pm, a woman reported that an elderly, gray terrier dog had shown up at her John Dyer Road residence. An hour later the owner was located (and was advised to get the dog registered). 

Sunday, Sept. 27

A motorist called police at 10:16 pm to report that a deer had run into the side of a vehicle on Colebrook Road and is in the roadway,

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
