To the editor:

Perhaps older readers will remember Art Linkletter and his popular show “People Are Funny.”  He later had another wonderful show, “Kids Say the Darnedest Things.”  

I‘ve been reminded of that show by the recent verbal antics of Donald Trump.  As but one example, he called Kamala Harris a ‘monster and a Communist.’  Such inane name-calling parallels what a bratty kid might yell, that someone is ‘stupid and smelly.’  An alert parent would explain that such words are hurtful and are uncalled for.  

Sadly, there appears to be no one around Trump in the role of an alert parent. So he continues to disparage, to vilify, to lie, to dissemble, to exaggerate, and to encourage the darkest forces in America to accept and broadcast his cynical and authoritarian view of politics.

This major character flaw is coupled with a concerted effort to corrupt major institutions, including the Justice Department, the EPA, and the Supreme Court.  I join many others in concluding, based on nearly four years of solid evidence, that Trump is thoroughly unfit for his office and must be voted out next month.
