To the editor:
A big congratulations to Westport Council on Aging (WCOA), Westport Board of Health, Dartmouth Board of Health and the many volunteers who organized and coordinated a Covid 19 vaccination clinic at Dartmouth High School this past Saturday.
The Westport Council on Aging established a waiting list for any seniors who wanted the vaccine. My 92-year-old Mom called and was placed on the list. To her surprise, staff from WCOA had called Mom in just a few days and set up an appointment for the Dartmouth location. This would be the first such clinic at Dartmouth High School.
We expected some glitches but all ran smoothly. Dartmouth and Westport staff and volunteers deserve recognition for the organized and courtesy manner in which they ran this clinic. Even our Board of Health member, Tanya Ryden, was there to guide Mom to her inoculation cubicle. After seeing the long lines and long waits and confusion at other state locations, we should be proud and grateful that Dartmouth did a great job!
