Letter: Schmid highly qualified for Westport Planning Board

Posted

To the editor:

We highly recommend Mark Schmid for the one-year term on the Planning Board and for many years after that.  A 60-year resident in Westport, Mark formed his own architectural firm early on and has 40 years experience with all types of buildings and spaces.

He has done volunteer work in the United Way and other non-profits and has worked on the Westport Historical Society Handy House, Bell School and the Westport River Watershed Alliance buildings in Westport.

Such a set of skills and experience in a man of character, who is innovative, articulate and forward thinking, will be a great asset to our Planning Board. We  think that he will be able to help balance new growth by addressing the competing needs in the community and yet preserve farms, woodlands, and the river which Westporters love. Please vote now by mail by going to westport-ma.com to get your application or at the polls on June 23rd for Mark Schmid.
