Letter: It’s fine to oppose wind farms, but please present facts

Posted

This letter is in response to Constance Gee’s letter in last week’s The Portsmouth Times, “Too much ignorance on wind farms’ impacts.”

To the editor:

Thank you for reading my letter. Dialogue is good.

You suggest in your missive, that electromagnetic fields, and surveys are responsible for marine mammal deaths. Again, what proof do you have?

I provided data from NOAA suggesting that this is not so, but you dismiss it as government disinformation. You are correct that “speaking from the heart does not preclude speaking the truth,” but providing facts makes the truth indisputable.

I don’t believe wind turbines are the long-term answer to either green energy or climate change. My point is, if you want to stop wind turbines based on wildlife detriment, present facts to back up your statements and position. Thank you.
