Work to install a new sewer pump station along Main Street should finish by early next year, providing new sewer infrastructure to North Warren and the Tourister mill complex.
The $700,000 project, which is bering paid for by Starr Development, a Tourister partner, was required by the town as part of its mill redevelopment review. Work was originally expected to be completed by next year; Warren Town Planner Bob Rulli said the timeline now is for it to be completed by the end of the year, or possibly early January.
The new station replaces an old pump station in the same area that was aging and would have been inadequate given the influx of residents at the complex. While work will mostly continue along the side of the road, workers will eventually have to cut underneath newly-paved Main Street to connect pump infrastructure to mains along the other side of the road.
While work continues police details, paid for by Starr, will remain.
