Police assisted with a disabled school bus on Touisset Road.

John R. MacGovern, 56, of Bristol, was picked up on a warrant for obtaining money under false pretenses. Police said he contracted with a Warren woman to deliver a set of kitchen cabinets in July, but failed to deliver.

A Croade Street resident reported the theft of a wallet and keys, but called back 13 minutes later to report finding them.

A woman stuck a deer at Schoolhouse Roaed and Kinnicutt Avenue.

Tuesday, Nov. 5

A caller reported a person who drove over a lawn on Child Street. The caller said the driver appeared confused.

A caller let police know about a cow standing in the middle of Barton Avenue.

A Market Street man reported the possible theft of items from his apartment.

A caller told police there was a disgruntled man who might have been carrying a gun, in a Main Street establishment. Police checked it out and found no gun, though they noted that he was upset with the business owner.

A caller told police about a woman who broke a window on a Main Street home at 10:06 p.m. She was locked out and trying to get in, police learned.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

A Child Street man told police that the side view mirror on his car was cracked and he had no idea how it happened.

A Seymour Street woman complained about speeders.

A child with a Dollar General shopping cart was apparently playing in traffic on Child Street, a caller reported.

Marques A. Franklin, 29, of 211 Market St., Apt. 1F, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after police got a call at 9:40 p.m. about neighbors arguing.

Thursday, Nov. 7

A Child Street woman reported her school-age daughter missing, but she returned shortly thereafter.

Police spoke to construction workers on Main Street after a caller complained that they started work at 6 a.m. Police advised them of the town’s construction time ordinance.

The school resource officer at Kickemuit Middle School reported the assault of a student who was attacked while walking on the school track. Police said it was an altercation between students.

A Metacom Avenue woman reported the theft of a handicap plate.

The manager of a Water Street property asked for police help in removing several fishermen from the private property.

A Cole Street woman who’d gotten into an argument with her boyfriend called police and asked them to remove him from the home.

Friday, Nov. 8

Zachary W. McGaw, 34, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2-R, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Second Division District Court in Newport.

A Metacom Avenue man reported receiving harassing text messages from his ex-girlfriend.

Korby Leblanc, 36, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2, was picked up on a bench warrant issued by Second Division District Court in Newport.

Saturday, Nov. 9

Gina E. Alexander, 44, of 91 Main St., Apt. 415, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over on Child Street at 12 a.m.

Police dispersed several people using metal detectors at Burr’s Hill.

Items were reportedly stolen from parked cars on Metacom Avenue and Colonial Drive.

Matthew Briggs, 36, of West Kingston, was arrested on a warrant for possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, after police pulled him over on Main Street. At 11:49 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 10

A 911 hangup call from Lyndon Street turned out to be a child playing a prank.

A caller from Libby Lane told police she let a friend borrow cookware, and the friend refused to return it.
