Warren police logs: Police search for naked man in pink wig

Monday, Jan. 27

A caller from Kickemuit Road told police just after 2 p.m. that there was a heavily intoxicated man walking through nearby yards.

A Main Street woman called police to talk about an issue with a neighbor. Turns out the neighbor’s dog chewed a hole in the complainant’s fence.

A caller from Child Street asked for increased police patrols in light of what appeared to be possible narcotics deals done in the area.

A Central Street woman told police that a man approached her daughter’s car while she was sitting in it in the driveway. He walked away when she pulled out and left.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

Kenneth A. Coelho, 30, of 21 Martin St., second floor, and Todd Cristiano, 44, of 17 Martin St., were each charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. Police said that earlier in the month Mr. Coelho got into an argument with a third person outside his home, when Mr. Cristiano intervened. A physical struggle ensued, and Mr. Cristiano told police that Mr. Coelho struck him with a rock. Mr. Coelho in turn said that Mr. Cristiano hit him with a snow shovel.

Police returned a lost wallet to its rightful owner.

A Broad Street resident found syringes in a flower bed outside the home.

A Market Street man reported being assaulted by a woman but declined to press charges.

Police looked for a person reportedly yelling at pedestrians on Main Street.

A Terrace Avenue woman complained that her dog was attacked by a neighbor’s.

A Main Street man told police that someone who had stayed the night at his house “stole everything in it.”

A caller reported seeing a sign in a Child Street window requesting help. Police checked but it was just kids playing.

A caller reported seeing an injured raccoon at Main and Campbell streets, near the bike path.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

A possible road rage incident was called in from Child Street.

A caller told police that a man and woman were arguing in front of the post office. Police said they were actually just talking loudly, with gestures.

An Ellis Avenue woman told police that a group of kids were running in and out of yards and hopping fences. She was concerned that they could injure themselves.

A Park Street man told police that his house had been egged. Soon after, a caller reported that two kids were throwing eggs at cars on Metacom Avenue.

A Denver Avenue man turned in a cell phone he’d found in his yard.

Thursday, Jan. 30

A Detroit Avenue woman asked that police remove a Bristol man from her home.

Zachary W. McGaw, 34, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2R, was picked up on a bench warrant issued from Second Division District Court.

A caller reported an aggressive driver on Market Street.

John J. Zawatski, 68, of Providence, was charged with forgery and counterfeiting. Police said that earlier in the month they received a complaint from a person who had done business with Mr. Zawatski in the past, and that the complainant had paid with a check. The victim called police after noticing that the check had been cashed again, months after it was first cashed. Police investigated and allege that Mr. Zawatski changed the date on the check before depositing it again.

A Canario Drive woman reported the theft of handicap signs.

Deeming it a “suspicious person” call, police received a complaint just before noon of a nude man wearing a pink wig walking around the marsh near Thompson Street.

Tara J. Medeiros, 24, of Providence, was picked up on an East Providence warrant.

A Child Street man found a bicycle in his yard and called police to come pick it up.

A caller from Market Street asked that police check on the well-being of her granddaughter, who missed school that day. All was well; the girl’s caregiver said the girl didn’t want to wake up for school.

Friday, Jan. 31

A Sisson Street man asked that rescue crews take him to the hospital for alcohol withdrawals.

A Parker Avenue resident complained about a large group of kids walking up and down the road just after 9 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 1

Diana Thomas, 52, of Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over on Metacom Avenue at 2:18 a.m.

A caller reported a speeder running “extremely high rates of speed” on Metacom Avenue.

Sunday, Feb. 2

Robert Antonelli, 31, of Seekonk, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 3:09 a.m.

A Main Street caller reported a man and woman yelling vulgarities at 10:21 a.m.

Police looked for but could not locate a drunk driver reported on Metacom Avenue at 1:30 p.m.

A Market Street man told police that his mailbox had gone missing.

Monday, Feb. 3

A caller from Davis Street reported a fight at the neighbors’ just after midnight.
