Warren police logs: Four charged with drug offenses

Monday, Sept. 21
A caller reported finding a child's bike and backpack at Burr's Hill. Apparently they had been there for several hours.

A caller from Fifth Street reported a domestic disturbance just after 1 p.m. But all was quiet on police arrival.

A Vernon Street woman came in to headquarters to speak with officers about signing a wayward child petition.

A caller from Tourister Mills said there was a man walking around the property and attempting to talk to residents. He left soon after.

Police advised a man of his options after he called to talk about his impending eviction.

A Franklin Street man reported that winds were blowing smoke from a neighbor's open burn across his property.

Police looked for but could not locate two men reportedly standing outside the Family Dollar store on Metacom Avenue and yelling at customers as they left the building.

Anthony Ware, 57, of 707 Main St., was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, first offense, after police investigated a car that was partially blocking the roadway on Kelly Street.

A caller from Cutler Street reported possible drug activity in the area.

A Crescent Street woman told police that a former roommate who had just moved out took her dog.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Market Street. Police transferred the call to Swansea authorities.

Tuesday, Sept. 22
Kasey M. Diore, 28, of Woonsocket, was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, first offense, after police initiated a traffic stop on the Warren town line just after 1 a.m.

Destiny L. Cooley, 32, listed as homeless, was charged with possession of a weapon other than a firearm, and Kelsey Champlin, 27, of 341 Market St., was charged with attempted breaking and entering, after a Market Street man called police at 9:10 a.m. to report that his daughter might be trying to break into his home.

A clerk at Cumberland Farms on Market Street reported shoplifting, but did not want to pursue the matter.

A Liberty Street woman complained that her mother might have taken her belongings.

An Arlington Avenue resident reported the theft of medication.

A passerby on Union Street called police after spotting an open burn in someone's yard. Police reported the fire extinguished eight minutes later.

A Main Street woman complained after seeing a man urinating in her yard.

A Bridge Street woman reported the theft of a bag from her car.

Wednesday, Sept. 23
Police investigated a suspicious car on Main Street just after midnight. It turned out to be a Uber driver having navigation issues.

Items were reported stolen from at least two cars on Franklin Street, callers told police.

A caller reported yelling on Broad Street. It turned out to be a father disciplining a child.

A Homestead Avenue woman told police that her child was being harassed by other juveniles in the area.

A Brown Street man reported the fraudulent use of his credit card.

A Main Street man asked that police check on his home, as he had received a message from a woman who "stated she intentionally damaged the rear door and will be continuing to destroy things." Police found no new damage or issues.

Lisa Ann Silvia, 55, of 42 Croade St., first floor, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police were called by a neighbor, who said she was throwing items at her home and car.

Thursday, Sept. 24
Items were reported stolen from a car on Locust Terrace.
Police determined that a report of shots fired on Buffalo Avenue was unfounded.

Friday, Sept. 25
A woman called just before 1 a.m. to report a group of juveniles running from the area of Main and Wheaton streets. She did not know what they were running from, she said.

A Maple Street woman reported capturing several juveniles on video, who were attempting to break into cars in the area at about 2 a.m.

A caller reported spotting a large turtle in the middle of Serpentine Road.

A Main Street man told police that someone had rummaged through his ca over the past several days.

A man asked that police check on the well-being of his children, who he said may have been neglected by their mother.

A Federal Street man flagged down an officer to report the possible theft of his son's bike.

Nicholas A. Bagley, 39, of 5 Long Wharf Drive, third floor, was charged with domestic violence/simple assault and/or battery, first offense, domestic violence/vandalism, first offense, and domestic violence/disorderly conduct, first offense, after police got a call at 7 p.m. regarding a man who was throwing items around inside the home.

Police spoke to a small group of people on a Maple Road deck, after a caller complained just after 10:30 p.m. that there was a loud party going on.

Saturday, Sept. 26
Police fielded several calls about vandalism on Frank Court and Patience Lane.

A juvenile, 16, was charged with possession of one ounce or less of marijuana by a person under 18, after police stopped to talk to a juvenile at Burr's Hill Park, who had been reported missing out of Bristol.

A caller on Kickemuit Road reported a swan trapped in the back yard.

A caller complained about loud music, possibly from a live band, on Denver Avenue. Police checked it out and reported that the people there were singing Happy Birthday. Another call came in from Denver Avenue about an hour later.

A Lyndon Street woman told police at 8:56 p.m. that someone had just thrown a rock through her window. Police identified two juveniles who were in the area at the time, but there was no word on nay charges.

An Arlington Avenue woman complained just before midnight that neihbors were using power tools. Police told them to quiet down.

Sunday, Sept. 27
John A. Nickerson, 25, of Attleboro, was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, first offense, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 12:27 a.m.

A Wood Street man told police at 3:32 a.m. that his neighbor's fire alarm was going off.

A Bridge Street resident asked to speak to an officer about the theft of her son's bike.

An employee at the Windmill Hill Golf Course told officers that a patron damaged a golf cart.

Police spoke to a person driving a mini-motorcycle in Jamiel's Park.
