Warren police logs: Busy week as police arrest 16

Police got a call about a turkey with a broken leg. When they arrived at Barker Ave., the bird was gone. However, they got another call about the bird on Ridgeway Drive an hour later, but the animal control officer said it flew away when approached.

A caller reported a man arguing with kids at the Warren Town Beach. Turns out they were just talking loudly.

Jermaine Raheen Brewster, 36, of Newport, was charged with violating a no contact order, third or subsequent offense.

Tuesday, June 11

A Main Street woman who had called 911 refused to answer the door when police showed up a few minutes later.

A resident was reported AWOL from a group home on Main Street just after  midnight. The caller later reported that the resident, a juvenile, had returned.

A Libby Lane reported that someone had been in her apartment and moved things around. She said she’d be changing the locks.

A man called 911 after catching a turtle on the bike path. The 911 operator transferred the call to DEM, and officials there advised him to put it back where he found it.

John J. Moitoza Jr., 49, of 3 Union St., second floor, was arrested on a Superior Court warrant.

A member of the rescue squad reported finding a fire hydrant knocked over at Miller Street and Narragansett Way. An inspection showed that the hydrant may have fallen over due to rust. The BCWA was notified.

A Metacom Avenue resident reported kids making noise, but police found none when they arrived. A neighbor told officers, though, that he had made some noise while leaving his house earlier.

Wednesday, June 12

Brayan A. Morales, 39, of Bristol, was pulled over on Metacom Avenue an d charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, first offense.

A Vernon Street resident reported receiving threatening calls and texts.

A car was reported vandalized on Sowamsett Avenue.

A woman waiting for the bus at Main and Water streets reported being assaulted by a bearded man wearing a hat.

A Child Street woman reported her son’s bike missing.

A Main Street woman who had earlier reported her young daughter missing reported to police that she’d come home.

A woman called police to report juveniles hanging out on Metacom, drinking and smoking cigarettes.

A woman who told police that her daughter was being harassed at the Kickamuit Middle School was advised to call the on the school resource officer.

Police called for a rescue for a man who had been reported drunkenly stumbling along with his bike on Water Street.

Thursday, June 13

Victoria L. Quintal, 25, of 19 Hanley Farm Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over on Arlington Avenue at 1:04 a.m.

A woman called police to report that her boyfriend had yelled at her.

A chainsaw was reported stolen from a Kinnicutt Avenue address.

Police told a group of juveniles to move along after a caller reported them hanging around the library.

A woman reported a cow standing in the middle of Metacom Avenue.

Friday, June 14

A juvenile reported missing from a Main Street group home was found by police eight minutes later near Greene Street.

Shawn M. Glassey, 39, of Pawtucket, was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of simple assault or battery, after police got a call at 3:03 a.m. about an unwanted drunken man at a Market Street address.

A caller from Market Street reported “aggressive” juveniles. They were gone when police arrived, but reportedly came back about 20 minutes later.

A caller reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from a car parked on Sisson Street. Police deemed the report unfounded.

Preston L. Silva, 19, of Fall River, was picked up on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

A caller reported a man stripping in the middle of a Main Street parking lot. Police looked for but couldn’t find him.

A Kelly Street man reported finding fraudulent charges on banking account.

Saturday, June 15

Jared A. Souza, 27, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 2:27 a.m.

Amaya T. Tyler, 20, of Middletown, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over on Market Street at 2:39 a.m.

A Market Street man asked police to remove his son from his home.

Two people were charged after police were called to Market Street at 4 p.m. for a fight. Christopher R. Silva, 32, of 9 Thompson St., was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and a juvenile, 15, was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

A Homestead Avenue woman reported her kayak stolen from Laurel Park.

A caller complained about fireworks on Wood Street, but all was quiet when police arrived.

Sunday, June 16

Jerome M. Arnold, 31, of 6 Greenlawn Ave., was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 12:39 a.m.

Daniel D. Santos, 53, of 40 Arlington Ave., Apt. 6, faces numerous charges a woman on Arlington Avenue called 911 and then hung up. Mr. Santos faces two charges charges of domestic simple assault/battery, third offense, two counts of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. He was arraigned and taken to the ACI.

Brandon Simao, 25, of 20 Long Wharf Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 5:47 a.m.

A Birchswamp Road woman reported to police that someone stole items from her car some time overnight.

Police requested rescue personnel for a man who had been reported walking in and out of traffic on Miller Street, possibly intoxicated.

Two men were charged after police were called to a fight on Seymour Street at 9:56 p.m. Christopher Silva, 28, of Bristol, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, while Brian Silva, 30, also of Bristol, faces charges of simple assault or battery, resisting arrest and domestic disorderly conduct.

A caller reported a suspicious character riding a motorized bike around a Main Street parking lot at 10:35 p.m.

Monday, June 17

Scott M. Beaulieu, 28, of Bristol, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, after police pulled him over on Arlington Avenue at 1:10 a.m.
