The following is a synopsis of Warren Police logs from Monday, Jan. 13-Sunday, Jan. 19:
Monday, Jan. 13
The morning started off with a parent visiting Warren Police Department headquarters to make a complaint about juveniles smoking marijuana in the area of Market Street. The woman requested an officer talk to her son about the effects of drug use.
At about 11 a.m., police received a call regarding potential fraud. A man claimed an unknown party was attempting unauthorized use of his credit card. The officer investigating the matter said the back caught the activity and prevented any loss to the affected party.
Police responded to a disturbance call at about 5 p.m. from Frances Street for a verbal argument. A neighbor had parked on the home owner's grass. The responding officer reported the vehicle had been relocated to the driveway and the issue was resolved.
At around 9 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Water Street. Officers found the car parked on the beach with heavy damage to the driver side door. Upon further inquiry, police arrested Jeremy W. Pollock, 32, of 7 Everett Street, Apt. #2, Newport on charges of DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense and refusal to submit chemical test. Pollock was later arraigned and released.
Tuesday, Jan. 14
A caller reported a motor vehicle accident involving a deer on Market Street about 8 a.m. Upon arrival, the responding officer found there to be no damage to the vehicle, but the deer was deceased and moved off the roadway.
Wednesday, Jan. 15
Police responded to a call of suspicious activity in the area of Bridge Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. A caller reported a letter from RI Energy gas was left in her door. The woman reached out to the company who stated they did not leave the letter. The officer at the scene reported making contact with the company, which confirmed the notice is related to a future project.
Thursday, Jan. 16
A report of property damage on Main Street was received at about 3:30 p.m. The caller said an entrance glass door was shattered. The person was awaiting a response from the property landlord, whom they had already notified. The responding officer made contact with property manager who said the door was damaged from the wind.
Another deer-involved motor vehicle accident took place on Main Street and Hanley Farm Road at about 5:15 p.m. Again, there was no damage of note to the vehicle, however the deer had died. The R.I. Department of Environmental Management was notified.
Police responded to an animal complaint at about 9:30 from Water Street and Company Street. A dog had been barking for nearly two hours inside a vehicle. The responding officer made contact with owner who was at a nearby restaurant. The party took the canine for a walk to calm down.
Friday, Jan. 17
Police were called to a Main Street location at about 7 p.m. to answer a dispersal request. Teenagers were congregating in an outdoor common area meant for residents. The responding officers identified at least one juvenile who does reside at the location. The party was with his friends.
Saturday, Jan. 18
Police and Department of Public Works were notified about a malfunctioning traffic signal at Metacom Avenue and Vernon Street at about 5:20 p.m. The responding officer confirmed the signal was not operating properly. It was stuck on red. The problem was eventually resolved at about 5:40 p.m. the same evening.
Sunday, Jan. 19
A Massachusetts man was eventually arrested after police responded to an erratic/aggressive driver complaint at about 7 p.m. at Market and Old Market Streets. Responding officers charged Joseph McCullagh, 60, of 32 Charity Stevens Lane, Fairhaven, with DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense and refusal to submit chemical test. McCullagh was later arraigned and released.
