Warren Police: DUI and domestic assault, plus dirt bikes and stolen gun

Warren police officers made a few arressts, including a late-night traffic stop that turned into a DUI. They also chased down dirt bikes, unruly juveniles and a few folks who were arguing with each other. Following are incidents from the Warren Police log of July 19 to 26.

Monday, July 19

Officers were dispatched to Coomer Avenue at 10:18 a.m. for an argument between two men. One was dispersed from the area without further incident.

At 3:42 p.m., two women came to police headquarters and reported that they had been assaulted by a woman on Water Street. Rescue responded to the station to assess one of the women; a second refused treatment.

A passerby reported a juvenile riding a dirt bike in the road in the area of Child and Parker streets at 4:16 p.m. It was also reported at 8 p.m., and this time an officer spoke to the juvenile.

A Leonard Street resident reported damage to his window.

James R. Fisher, 61, of 28 Child St., Warren, was pulled over and charged with driving with an expired or inactive license (third offense). The car was towed from the scene.

Tuesday, July 20

A passerby reported seeing a man lying down in the lot of the park and ride on Franklin Street at 12:07 a.m. The man was taken by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital.

After a caller reported being assaulted by a family member at 12:19 p.m., officers responded and arrested Haley T. Tino, 19, of 66 Joyce St., Apt. 22, Warren. She was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A caller reported a man going door to door asking for money on Seymour Street at 2:33 p.m.

An officer spoke to a group of juveniles who had been throwing trash around along Market Street at 3:30 p.m. They were advised to pick it all up.

Officers served a District Court warrant at 3:42 p.m. and arrested Kenneth J. Lagrange, 51, of 78 Arlington Ave., Apt. C, Warren. He was taken to the station, processed and then brought to the ACI.

Officers responded to Schoolhouse Road for a domestic disturbance at 11:15 p.m. It was resolved without further incident.

Wednesday, July 21

Officers were called back to Schoolhouse Road at 1:42 a.m. for an ongoing argument and dispersed a woman from the area.

A car hit a stone wall along Touisset Road at 11:50 a.m.

A Libby Lane resident reported a package stolen.

At 7:15 p.m., a caller reported a large group of juveniles, possibly fighting, along Market Street.

Thursday, July 22

A Bay Road resident called police to complain about a hole her neighbor dug on her property. The officer advised her it is a civil matter.

At 11:06 p.m., a woman on Cutler Street complained that her neighbor was playing extremely loud music.

Friday, July 23

A man on Sisson Street called police at 2:33 a.m. after witnessing his neighbor trying to gain access to another apartment. An officer called rescue to transport the intoxicated man to a hospital.

At 9:49 a.m., a caller reported seeing a woman possibly strike one of her children. Officers found the woman with her two children while walking along Child Street and all denied any incident.

An officer assisted after someone reported a raccoon inside a dumpster on Asselin Street.

A Wood Street resident reported an injured deer on their back deck at 11:41 a.m.

A Parker Street resident reported a neighbor riding a dirt bike up and down the street at 12:45 p.m. When an officer arrived, the vehicle was parked and unattended.

A Main Street caller reported that a flower pot in front of her business had been stolen.

At 4:55 p.m., a caller from Greene Street reported being assaulted by a family member who had left the scene. Police sent out a notice to both Bristol and Barrington to be on the lookout for the suspect. At 8:24 p.m. officers found him and arrested Sergio M. Rodrigues, 41, of 24 Greene St., Apt. 1, Warren. He was charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released from the station.

Someone used the Tip 411 system to report a house party with drunken people and noise on Homestead Avenue at 11:41 p.m.

Saturday, July 24

A resident used Tip 411 to reported a fight taking place inside of a unit in the Tourister complex, with crashing and banging. Officers responded but could not find any evidence of a fight in progress.

After stopping a vehicle along Market Street at 2:55 a.m., a 19-year-old from Portsmouth was charged with possession of underage beverages by an underage person. He was removed from the vehicle and the car was towed.

A caller reported a juvenile riding a dirt bike up and down Parker Street at 11:03 a.m. An officer arrived and spoke to the juvenile.

At 12:25 p.m., a caller reported a juvenile riding a dirt bike around Jamiel’s Park. An officer found both the youth and mother on scene and notified both of them of the complaint.

A man came into headquarters at 1:30 p.m. to report a stolen firearm.

A Franklin Street resident complained of cyber-harrassment.

Sunday, July 25

An animal was reportedly trapped in a dumpster along Long Lane at 9:41 a.m.

Loitering juveniles were dispersed from an area along Turner Street at 12 p.m.

A caller reported finding a chihuahua mix dog at 2:42 p.m. along Asylum Road. The dog was brought to the animal shelter.

Following an accident on Schoolhouse Road at 5:18 p.m., Lance Machado, 48, of 160 Kickemuit Road, Warren, was taken to the station and charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was arraigned at the station by a justice of the peace and later released.

A caller from Union Street reported that juveniles were throwing food at them over a fence at 7:07 p.m. An officer responded and spoke to the father of the juveniles.

A resident of Detroit Avenue reported hearing fireworks at 9:22 p.m. Officers responded but all was quiet when they arrived.
