A possibly injured swan on Kinnicutt Avenue was escorted back into the water, police reported.

A caller reported a woman passed out on a bench on Main Street just after 10:30 a.m. The woman told police she’d just fallen asleep.

A caller told police that a woman was making obscene gestures and yelling on Croade Street just before 11 a.m.

An Overkill Road woman reported that her dog was attacked by a neighbor’s dog.

Police charged Lemuel Taylor, 49, of Providence, with misdemeanor after he was reported shoplifting at a Metacom Avenue store. Police caught up with him after a short foot chase.

Dennis J. Amoureux, 38, of 243 Market St., Apt. 1, was picked up on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

Police were asked the check on the well-being of a Greenlawn Avenue man who was reportedly sitting on the ground for an extended period. He told officers he was just listening to music.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

A Kathleen Drive man told police that someone took $80 from his two cars, both of which had been gone through overnight, and another victim reported his cell phone stolen from his car. Police investigated and the work led to two juveniles, 12 and 13. Both were charged with larceny, were released to their parent/guardians, and their cases have been referred to Rhode Island Family Court. The phone and money was recovered.

A caller from Croade Street reported being harassed by a neighbor.

David W. Harrington, 61, of Somerset, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, refusal to submit to a chemical test, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, after police pulled him over on Barker Avenue at 4:08 p.m. Police began following the car on Child Street, and pursued as it traveled at about 25 miles per hour onto Barker.

Joseph Rego, 45, of 18 Barden Lane, was arrested on two Rhode Island FamilyCourt warrants.

An intoxicated man called 911 twice to report that he was upset over his roommate dropping a beer. Police responded and transported a woman, who police said was highly intoxicated, to the hospital.

Thursday, Oct. 10

Anthony Ericastilla Barraza, 27, of Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over at 12:14 a.m. on Main Street.

A caller reported an aggressive driver entering Warren on Market Street.

Two juveniles, age 16 and 17, were charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to Child Street at 8:04 p.m. for a disturbance.

A DCYF official asked police to check on the well-being of two juveniles in the custody of their grandmother on Martin Street. Police said the children were OK.

A Fatima Drive woman called police after her husband, who was intoxicated, took the keys and tried to leave the house following a verbal argument at 11:23 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 11

Tony M. Brum, 43, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 1:10 a.m.

Barrington police sent out a BOLO for a young girl wearing white jeans and fake brown Ugg boots.

A caller told police cattle had wandered into the middle of Barton Avenue just before 5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 12

A caller from Federal Street said a stranger who said he was looking for a cell phone knocked on her door.

A runaway juvenile was reported from a Main Street home.

Sunday, Oct. 13

A Main Street woman called police, concerned that there might be someone in her basement.

Police reunited the owner with his cell phone, which had been picked up on Washington Street.
