Warren police: Busy week as police make 14 arrests

Monday, March 15
A Market Street resident reported receiving threatening and harassing messages. As the incidents occurred in Coventry, police referred the caller to authorities in that town.

A caller told police that a driver on Main Street who'd left his truck tailgate open was dropping boxes onto the street. Police caught up and said the driver was picking up the mess.

A Market Street resident reported the theft of cash from his room, but declined to make a formal statement.

A case worker from the Department of Children, Youth and Families asked for a police escort while performing a well-being check of children at a Highview Avenue home.

A Denver Avenue woman looked out her window and spotted two Huskies in her yard (not Mt. Hope students). She told police she was gathering the dogs together and returning them to their home on a nearby street.

Fire crews knocked down a fire at an Overhill Road residence, extinguishing it by 5:52 p.m., 29 minutes after the call came in.

Thomas P. Olean, 35, of Barrington, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, first offense, and driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, second offense, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 9:40 p.m.

Gayee Myers, 21, of Providence, was charged with driving without or on an expired license, third or subsequent offense, after an 11:42 p.m. traffic stop on Metacom Avenue.

Tuesday, March 16
A caller told police that a bicyclist on Market Street was carrying a baby on the bike.

A caller complained about a panhandler on Main Street just before noon.

Robert R. Stephenson, 46, of 241 Market St., was charged with driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, third or subsequent offense, after a 4:22 p.m. stop on Market Street.

Fire crews extinguished a mulch fire on Wilbur Avenue, after a resident called it in at 4:28 p.m.

A Warren woman came in to police headquarters to ask for police assistance with a child custody matter.

A Laurel Lane woman came in to headquarters to ask about the procedure for obtaining a restraining order.

Police charged two people after a traffic stop on Child Street just before 6 p.m. Jessica M. Diaz, 25, of Cumberland, was charged with driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, first offense; Brandon Tella, 23, of 426 Child St., was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

A resident told police she'd seen a juvenile sitting unattended on a Child Street sidewalk just before 6 p.m. Police looked for but could not locate the youth.

A Child Street woman called police after noticing that someone had left a dog outside her apartment door. The dog was taken to the Warren Animal Shelter.

Wednesday, March 17
An aggressive driver/road rage complaint came in from a driver at Market and Old Market streets.

Police dispersed an unwanted woman from a Main Street address.

A Fairview Avenue resident reported being threatened.

Police restored the peace after being called out to a neighborhood dispute on Harris Avenue at 1:17 p.m.

Fire crews extinguished a small campfire after police received a complaint of people with a small open burn in the woods near Franklin Street.

A man was taken to the hospital for detox after a caller requested a well-being check at a Sowamsett Avenue home.

A caller reported a driver all over the road on Market Street.

Thursday, March 18
Autumn R. Johnson, 23, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving without or on an expired license, after police pulled her over on Arlington Avenue just after 1 a.m.

A caller asked police for information about medical marijuana.

Fire crews went out to Croade Street at 11:59 a.m. for a fire call. It turned out to be a cooking mishap.

An anonymous woman brought in a quantity of cash she had found on Child Street.

A Market Street man called police at 5:48 p.m., concerned for the safety of his friend, who was intoxicated and walking home from his home. She returned to his home a short time later.

A DCYF worker asked for a well-being check on Highview Avenue children, after an anonymous tip that she was driving with them in the car, while intoxicated. Police said the woman was fine.

Friday, March 19
Stephanie L. Taveras, 29, of 53 Wheaton St., was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving without or on an expired license, after police pulled her over on Water Street at 6:15 a.m.

A caller reported a possible sick fox on Main Street, just after 10 a.m.

An Asselin Street woman called police to report that she'd been the victim of a scam.

Ethan McGillicuddy, 45, of 47 Baker St., was charged with driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Child Street at 12:29 p.m.

Callers from Ridgeway Drive reported a loose cow in their backyard. Soon after, the animal control officer reported that the cow's owner was attempting to corral it on Hanley Lane.

Employees from a repossession company reported seizing a car on Birchswamp Road.

A caller reported that several juveniles might have been stealing and damaging property throughout the Seymour Street neighborhood. Police found, identified and dispersed the kids.

A Schoolhouse Road man told police he'd been physically assaulted by a tenant there.

Connor Sullivan, 18, of Barrington, was charged with misrepresenting his age after police got a call from an employee at a Main Street establishment, who'd been given a fake ID.

A caller from the department's Tip411 line reported a very loud domestic disturbance in a unit at the Tourister Mill lofts, which had been going on for some time.

Saturday, March 20
Fire crews extinguished a mulch fire called in just before 8 a.m. on Colonial Drive.

A Harris Avenue man complained that his sister was following him around town and harassing him.

Police were called to Harris Avenue at 3:16 p.m. for a dispute over loud music.

A Wood Street woman complained that her ex was refusing to give her custody of her child.

A caller told police that a driver threw a tomato out of a car window while driving on Metacom Avenue, striking a bicyclist. The bicyclist was OK and kept riding.

A caller complained about loud music on Child Street at 10:16 p.m.

Raymon E. Wright, 34, of Providence, was charged with driving on a suspended, revoked or canceled license, second offense.

A Child Street woman called at 11:15 p.m. to complain about a neighbor's loud music.

Sunday, March 21
Daniel Koehler, 32, of 76 Arlington Ave., Apt. 2, was charged with driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, second offense, after police pulled him over on Greenlawn Avenue at 12:26 a.m.

Julio G. Webster, 38, of North Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 1:15 a.m.

Kenneth J. LaGrange, 50, of 78 Arlington Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, after police were called to Arlington Avenue at 1:17 a.m. for a complaint that there were several people arguing.

A Sisson Street man called and requested a rescue transport to the hospital, for alcohol intoxication.

A caller reported being followed by an irate driver, and then threatened after pulling over into a Metacom Avenue parking lot.

A caller reported a man and woman arguing at Jamiel's Park.
Fire crews removed a microwave oven from a Rollingwood Court home, following a cooking mishap called in just before 4 p.m.

A Massasoit Avenue complained at 4:31 p.m. that a neighbor might be burning a mattress or box spring in the yard. Police checked it out and found nothing amiss.

Kiara Costa, 21, of Pawtucket, was charged with driving on a suspended, revoked or canceled license, first offense, after police pulled her over on Market Street at 5 p.m.

A passerby reported that juveniles threw a plastic bottle at a car passing on Homestead Avenue at 8 p.m. Police checked the area.
