Warren PD: A very busy week

Monday, April 18
A Water Street resident reported at 7:06 a.m. that she caught someone on her security cameras over the prior night looking into her windows with a flashlight.

Police informed DOT at 1:19 p.m. of pieces of metal sticking out of the sidewalk on Arlington Avenue that had damaged a car’s tire that morning.

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested on Market Street at 3:37 p.m. following a report of an altercation. They were charged with simple assault and/or battery, vandalism, and disorderly conduct and released to their mother later that evening.

Police dispersed a disagreeable skateboarder from Main Street at 5:18 p.m.

Tuesday, April 19
A caller on Laurel Lane reported at 4:47 a.m. that a large tree had gone down and was blocking the roadway. The tree apparently took out power in the area and affected the traffic light leading to Metacom Ave. National Grid responded shortly after the report.

Three Warren residents were arrested on Market Street at 8:50 a.m. following a joint police investigation between the Warren and Bristol Police Department. See the separate story for more information on these arrests and charges.

A caller reported their friend had fainted and struck a telephone pole while driving near Homestead and Metacom Avenues at 4:27 p.m. The driver was transported to the hospital and National Grid was advised of the pole damage.

Wednesday, April 20
A port-a-john was blown over by wind and reported by five people around 7:51 a.m. on Railroad Avenue. The company was notified.

A harrowing arrest of two Warren residents took place at 12:40 p.m. on Ridgeway Drive when a resident came home to find two men wearing ski masks breaking her window. Kasey Monty, 25, of Warren, and Nicholas Wilson, 28, of Warren, were each charged with six drug-related offenses and a count of conspiracy related to possession of stolen property with intent to deliver. They were transported to the ACI.

Thursday, April 21
A person reported a “wound of an unknown origin” from an animal at 1:57 p.m. on Metacom Avenue.

A caller on Main Street thought she was the victim of identity theft and reported so at 4:02 p.m. It ruined out she was just having computer issues and couldn’t log in to applications.

Friday, April 22
A sick or injured raccoon was reported on Market Street at 8:32 a.m.
Police dispersed arguing individuals on Baker Street near the dock at 12:32 p.m.

A caller on Water Street reported at 3:46 p.m. that they had observed a woman on security try to gain access to the front door of the property, but the person was gone upon police arrival.

A 411 tip relayed at 6:28 p.m. reported that a female was trying to scam others by selling puppies via the internet.

Nicholas Lachapelle, 27, of Warren, was arrested following a domestic incident on Market Street at 11:47 p.m. He was charged with three counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery; refusal to relinquish/damage to/obstruction of a telephone; and disorderly conduct, all first offenses), resisting arrest, possession of prohibited weapons other than firearms, and assault of a police officer. He was arraigned and transported to the ACI the following morning.

Saturday, April 23
Hearkening back to an above log, a caller on Emery Road reported at 11:37 a.m. that they had fallen victim to a scam regarding puppies for sale.

A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested on Massasoit Avenue at 5:20 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana under one ounce. They were released later that evening.

The Warren Fire Department knocked down a fire that started on Vernon Street at a shed behind the fire station at 5:52 p.m.

Tinamarie Forsyth, 52, of Agawam, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Main and Wood Streets at 9:32 p.m. She was charged with DUI of liquor, BAC unknown (first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released to a family member later that evening.

Sunday, April 24
Police dispersed juveniles near Wood Street at 4:33 p.m.

John Soto, 40, of Warren, was arrested on Market Street at 11:01 p.m. and charged with second degree child abuse and disorderly conduct. He was transported to court the following morning.
