A Warren man faces a cruelty to animals charge following an incident first reported last November. On Sunday, Nov. 25, police received a call from a woman who said her boyfriend Zackary Raposa, abused her Yorkshire terrier. She told police that she left the dog in his care while she went away on vacation. Upon returning home, she found injuries on the dog's belly. After reviewing surveillance footage from a camera in the home, she said she saw Mr. Raposa lift up the dog and strike its head and face area against a door knob. After an investigation, police obtained a warrant for his arrest. Mr. Raposa, 27, of 42 Warren Ave., Apt. 2, turned himself in on the warrant on Tuesday, June 4. He was summonsed to appear in Sixth Division District Court on a charge of unnecessary cruelty to animals.
