Sandrea "Sandy" Speroni is expected to be named Warren's new town clerk following a ratification of her contract by the Warren Town Council this coming Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Ms. Speroni, who currently serves as deputy town clerk and has worked for the town for 19 years, will replace former clerk Julie Coelho, who retired at the end of the year after more than 30 years of service to the town.

"Ms. Speroni has consistently demonstrated her dedication to the Town of Warren and her ability to effectively manage the complex duties of the Office of Town Clerk," Warren Town Manager Kate Michaud told the Warren Times Friday morning. "I am confident that she will be able to seamlessly transition into the role of Town Clerk and I look forward to working closely with her in her new capacity.

Ms. Coelho, who plans to spend most of her time helping raise her seven grandchildren, said about a month before her departure that while she is leaving with mixed emotions. While she will miss the many people she works with every day, "I'm going to be too busy to think."

"I (will) miss the people (and) I miss the work," Ms. Coelho said.
