Shirley H. (Millard) Manchester Bell, 97, of Swansea, MA., died Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at home.

She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Manchester and also the late William Bell.

She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Errol B. and Emily A. (Peterson) Millard.

Shirley was a Home Health Aide for many years.

She had lived in Swansea since 1987, coming from the Touisset section of Warren. She was a member of the former St. Mark’s Church in Warren.

She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, a member of the Roger Williams – Rumford Grange for over 75 years, and she had just received her 75-year pin from them.

Shirley enjoyed playing cards, traveling, working on jigsaw puzzles and was an avid fisherman.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Lawson of Rumford, Walter A. Manchester of Dunnellon, Florida, Arthur E. Manchester of Providence and Robert E. Manchester of Waterford, Vt. Shirley was the grandmother of 17 and the great-grandmother of many.

Her funeral services will be private. She will be buried in South Burial Ground in Warren.

Calling hours and flowers are omitted. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Roger Williams-Rumford Grange, C/O Shirley Lawson, 120 Wilson Avenue, Rumford, RI 02916.
