Richard M. Amaral, age 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home Saturday, June 19, 2021. He was the loving husband of Carla A. (Thies) Amara, to whom he was married for 25 years.

Born at St Anne's Hospital in Fall River MA and raised in Bristol, RI, he was the son of Angela (Cabral) Amaral Mourato and the late Richard M. Amaral.

A hard worker, and licensed through New England Tractor Trailor Training School, Richard was a truck driver delivering oxygen, Senior Technician and Supervisor for many years for Lincare. Most recently, he was a Maintenance Technician for the Aquidneck Assisted Living place in Portsmouth, RI.

A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching the Giants and coaching for his son’s Warren Pop Warner football team. With a great sense of humor, he loved to be with his friends and family and make them laugh. He lived as an example of how to treat others, was a man of faith, loved a good cup of coffee and especially adored his family.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by one daughter, Laura Amaral; one son, Richard Amaral; three brothers, Robert Amaral and Manny and Jay Mourato; many nieces and nephews and several close friends.

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
