Recently, we have seen film crews in town and solar companies flocking to Warren to take advantage of open land and all the fruits the Warren economy bears. As an attorney experienced in municipal finance matters, I have helped municipalities capture revenue from these businesses that wish to use town resources without owning any property in town that would be subject to municipal taxes.
If Warren wants to keep our economy growing and to keep Warren’s culture, we need to make sure residents and businesses aren’t being forced to sell their property or leave town because of tax increases. As a Town Councilor, I will take a close look at all potential revenue sources so that we can provide a well-maintained town for Warrenites and, through use of host agreements, fees and grants, minimize the tax burden the resident people and businesses carry.
