Mt. Hope wrestling team scored 197 points to take their first ever Rhode Island Interscholastic League State Championship at the Providence Career and Technical Academy on Saturday. Bishop Hendricken placed second with 176 points and Ponagansett took third with 167 points. Mt. Hope senior co-captain Cory Grifka took home the 182 pound state championship, defeating Hendricken's Nathan Reid by pin, 4:55 into the match. Senior co-captains Nick Gomes and Liam Mallon each placed at their weight.
