Michael J. Munroe, 87, of Warren

Michael J. Munroe, 87, of Warren passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Ann (Botelho) Munroe for 37 years before his passing.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Caughlan) Munroe.

Michael was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, class of 1953. Michael loved his job working for the Bristol County Water Authority for over 50 years, retiring as Operations Manager in 2007. Michael was a member of the Bristol/Warren Rotary Club, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Reba Rebekah Lodge and a past member of the Warren Central Fire Station. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and had a passion for all things Irish. Michael loved to play golf and tennis, read, and travel extensively with his wife.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Michael is survived by his children: Kenneth Munroe (Frances), Sandra Wunschel (William), and Mary Ellen Cabral (Michael); his grandchildren: Kathleen Munroe, Kevin Munroe (Laura), Shawna Williams (Derval); his great grandchildren: Jeremy Munroe , Ashley Williams, Paula Costello , Arianna Williams, Avery Williams, Brooke Costello, Hannah Munroe; and his step children: Nancy Magee and Denise Boudreau; his step grandchildren: Kayla Magee, Brad Magee; his step great grandchild Dyllan; and extended family and friends.

Services will be private. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetary, Chesnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Warren Rescue/Fire Department.
