Proud Warrenite, social butterfly and loving matriarch

Lorraine F. (Parent) Vitullo, 81, of Canario Drive, Warren, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Hope Hospice, Providence.

She was the devoted wife of 60 years to Kenneth Edward Vitullo.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Florence (Denault) Parent.

Mrs. Vitullo was a proud, lifelong Warrenite. Lorraine graduate from St. Mary Academy-Bay View, Class of 1957. Afterward, she drove a taxi for her father’s company, followed by many years at Newport Creamery, but locals will recall her as an exceptional waitress that greeted all with a smile, quick wit and a loving laugh.

Lorraine taught her children the values of faith, hard work, and unconditional love. She was a devout parishioner of St. Jean’s Church, and frequently brought her grandchildren with her to mass. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her husband and their friends throughout Bristol County whether it was the German Club, the Elks Club or the VFW.  She was a social butterfly right up until her passing. As the matriarch of the family, we will sorely miss her smile and happy go lucky spirit.  The family is especially thankful to the Warren rescue team, especially Chief Galinelli and the staff at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care for their exceptional care.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Neal Vitullo and his wife Elizabeth of Swansea, MA, Glen Vitullo and his companion Nicole DeVona of Coventry, RI, and Scott Vitullo and his wife Mary Beth of Warren, RI; a daughter, Sheri Boucher and her husband Paul of Warren, RI; eight grandchildren, Nadine, Kayley, Mackenzie, Kyra, Miley, Jameson, Joshua and Conor; and one great-granddaughter, Everly.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, June 21, from Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday morning, June 21, 2021, from 8 to 9 AM in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the German Club, 27 Kelly St., Warren, RI, 02885, or to the Elks Lodge, 1 Constitution St., Bristol, RI 02809.
