Loretta L. Morais, 91

Loretta L. (Abrain) Morais, age 91, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, in Adviniacare Southpoint.

Born in New Bedford and raised in Warren, a daughter of the late J. Arthur and Lillian (Gordon) Abrain, she was a longtime resident of Swansea.

A graduate of Warren High School, she worked at Warren Elastic, was the owner and operator of Dwarf Nursery in Swansea, a bookkeeper for Aetna Insurance and owned Elaine’s Country Store in Tiverton. Loretta was also a dedicated and active member of the American Legion in Swansea, Post #303. She loved spending time with her family and adored her dogs. She enjoyed baking and was a crossword puzzle and word search enthusiast.

She is survived by one son, Frank M. Garcia and his wife Terry, of Tiverton; two daughters, Betty Wieczorek of Tennessee and Nancy Garcia of Florida; three grandchildren, Serinity Johnson, Trevor Goins and Jennifer Rose Garcia; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Oscar A. Abrain and Terry Garaffa.

Her visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Lung Association, 25 Spring St., Walpole, MA 02081.
