Letter: Thank you for compassion under trying circumstances

Posted

During a time of very deep sorrow and sadness for our family and friends, all funeral arrangements for our loved one had to be altered due to the difficult and ever-changing times we live in.

With great compassion and care, Catherine Tattrie, owner and managing director, and Rob Connor, funeral director, and staff, with concern for the well-being and safety for all, arranged a lovely time for visitation at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, and a beautiful and memorable graveside memorial service.

We will be forever grateful for all the time, kindness, love and support they gave to us in our time of overwhelming grief. We thank you, and God bless you all.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
