Laura E. (Pacheco) Poissant, 96, of Warren, died Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Summit Commons Nursing Home in Providence. She was the wife of the late Alfred Poissant.

Laura was born in Warren, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Peters) Pacheco. She was an Office Worker for the Berkshire Hathaway Company for many years.

She was a lifelong Warren resident, and a parishioner of the former St. Jean the Baptiste Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Laura had also worked at the Primrose Hill Nursery Flower Shop.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Poissant Harrington of Bristol and Sandra Poissant of Warren.

Mrs. Poissant was the grandmother of Holly Bellucci, Donald Thompson, Christopher Harrington and Jenna Harrington. She was also the great-grandmother of Emma and Nathan Bellucci, and Daniel Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Laura was the sister of the late Richard Pacheco, John Pacheco, Arthur Pacheco, Louise Whalen, Mary Coelho, Ida Grace, Emily Smith and Lucy Saulnier.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 30, from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will follow in St. jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
