Four years in, there's another Folk's Festival planned for this weekend.
The yearly music and arts festival sponsored by The Collaborative, 30 Cutler Street and Narragansett Beer, runs 1 to 7 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 8, at 30 Cutler St.
The festival focuses on all things local with plenty of art from more than 30 Rhode Island area artists, including members of non-profit The Collaborative. Eli's Kitchen, Balasco's Pizzeria, Chomp Kitchen & Drinks, Statesman Tavern, Richardson’s, Blount Seafood, and Chelsea’s Creamery will serve food, with a percentage of sales going to the Collaborative. The beer garden is once again fully sponsored by Narragansett Beer, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The Collaborative. Joining the festival for the first time this year is Laureate Imports, a distributor of Slovenian wine. The Nitro Cart will also be back serving nitro coffees and other caffeinated drinks.
As for music, there will be plenty: The main music stage will feature Consuelo’s Revenge, Coma Coma, Cactus Attack, a special performance by four of Rhode Island’s premier songwriters, who call themselves GloRI Girls, Bear Fight Club and The Low Cards. There will also be an acoustic stage showcasing five Rhode Island-based singer songwriters.
Other attractions include a photo booth from photography team Little Outdoor Giants, a kids' craft tent, a live music recording booth, and much more.
The festival takes place in the backlot of 30 Cutler Street in Warren, rain or shine. Entry is free and attendees are encouraged to walk or bike in as parking is very limited.
