Think you can cook? Now’s the chance to have one of your family’s signature recipes appear on the menu at one of Warren’s most popular restaurants, Eli’s Kitchen.
Eli Dunn is teaming up with Hannah Stowe to create a family food challenge. The contest benefits the Rhode Island Food Bank and is being held in coordination with the Food Network, which twice hosted Mr. Dunn on its popular Chopped cooking show, and Hannah, a North Kingstown resident, on its Chopped Junior show.
“We created this experience to help raise awareness for those struggling with food insecurity in Rhode Island,” Eli and Hannah said in a statement. “Please help by giving whatever you can. The more funds raised, the more the food bank can do to help Rhode Islanders in need.”
To enter, donate $25 to the Rhode Island Food Bank, then cook a dish with your family and upload a photo and the recipe by Saturday, July 18 (links below). Entries will be judged by Eli and Hannah, and the winners will be revealed on Wednesday, July 22. Eli and Hannah will judge entries based on presentation, creativity and sustainability (use locally sourced and cooked seasonably if possible).
The first place winner will have the honor of having a modified version of the dish on Eli’s menu; second place winners will receive a family gift certificate to Eli’s.
