Diamond Alves, 87, of Warren, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was born in Providence, RI, the son of the late Diamantino and Florence (LePage) Alves.

Diamond was a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War. During his time of service he earned the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, National Service Defense Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.

Diamond is survived by his daughters, Nancy Noons of Rehoboth, MA and Diane Saial of East Providence, RI; and a son, David Alves Harrison, ME. He was the brother of Lorraine Christown of Bristol, RI. He was preceded in death by his three brothers Franklin, Louis and Antonio Alves. He was also the grandfather to five and a great-grandfather of two.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at 10 AM in South Burial Ground in Warren, RI.
