David Lloyd Durfee, 73, of Fairhaven, Mass., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dave was the son of the late Lloyd and Ellen Durfee of Somerset, Mass. Married to Ann Durfee for 51 years, he was the proud father of Carey Rochford, David Durfee Jr. and Alex Durfee. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jack, Sage, Tyler and Hunter.

Dave was a skilled carpenter. He loved fishing, camping, sailing, listening to live music, walks in the woods and on the beach, and riding his bike. His passion was taking care of his beloved herb garden and sitting by a fire with family and friends. His infectious laugh will be missed by all.

Dave graduated from Somerset H.S. in 1965. He received a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Umass Dartmouth in 1975. He was a retired self-employed contractor for his own business, Durfee Construction. In memorandum of his life, Dave’s family will be holding a rowdy celebration at a future date.

“It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go.”  Jim Rohn

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
