For years, Keri Davock has been there when her community needed her, hosting countless fundraisers at Market Street Pub, the local Warren haunt she runs alongside sisters Amy Davock and Jodi Furtado. Now, people from all over are returning the favor, offering prayers and support after the mother of three suffered a severe cardiac event on Sunday, July 21.

Since that day, community members have flocked to the Davock family’s aid, providing help in whatever way that they could. From supplying meals to purchasing gift cards, offering prayers to organizing the wildly successful “Support for Keri Strong” GoFundMe campaign, the level of kindness, Amy said, has been overwhelming.

“The community’s done more than enough,” she said gratefully.

Now back at home, in the house she only recently moved into in Bristol with her boyfriend, Hoslee Rojas, and children Katrina, Kaiden and Maddie, Keri is slowly beginning to recover. Though they are uncertain as to what exactly caused the cardiac event, doctors are hopeful that Keri will once again be able to lead a normal life.

Amy and her family know that they have many people to thank for that positive prognosis, including first-responding Warren police officers Matthew Hozempa and Kenneth Medeiros; EMT Jamie Sylvia; and their stepmother, Sandy Davock, who performed CPR on Keri.

Yet her road to recoverY will not be without its strife. Keri suffered several broken ribs, and is currently not allowed to raise her left arm. She will be forced out of work for several months, be unable to operate a vehicle for even longer. These are all palatable challenges to have to swallow, however, compared to what could have been the alternative.

“She’s on the mend,” Amy said. “We can deal with that stuff.”

If the past two weeks have shown the Davock family anything, they can be rest assured they will not have to deal with it alone.
