The locals were first on the board in the opening inning after loading the bases and plating a run when Hayden Bernard was hit by a pitch. Darlington, though, answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead.
The hosts tacked on two more runs in the fourth to up their edge to 5-1. Bristol Warren later scored three of its own in the top of the sixth on a pair of singles and a Darlington error before the rally fell short.
Brennan Rolondo reached on a base hit with one out. Levi Coelho walked. Dylan DiPietro plated one with a single, moved into scoring position on a Beckett Bolduc base hit, then came home on a steal.
Rolondo, Bolduc and DiPietro each had two hits. Hayden Bernard, Bolduc, and DiPietro each drove in runs.
The loss was the first for the locals, who next play in Portsmouth on Wednesday, July 2, at 6 p.m. Bristol Warren's win in the tournament came against the same Portsmouth side, 8-6, earlier last week.
