Letter: Tiverton protected democracy five years ago

As a bit of a historian of the campaign and effort, I thought I might remind the good citizens of Tiverton that last Thursday, October 10th, 2024 was the fifth anniversary of Tiverton voters’ successful recall of former Tiverton Town Councilors Justin Katz and Robert Coulter.

As one of the canvassers, among many others, and hopefully speaking for ALL who supported the petition and the ultimately successful recall, we are justifiably proud of all the voters who worked in support of this effort, and, indeed, for all the engaged citizen participant voters who turned out to recall these two.

Democracy, the rule of law, and the free exercise of the franchise prevailed - the center held - and stood the test of time, in our own small Town of Tiverton, just five autumns ago.

Thank you.
