Tristan White and Elliot Pasquale combined for 33 points as Tiverton crushed Coventry 59-47 in a Division II home game in front of a packed senior night crowd on Friday night. The win improved the Tigers record to 11-6 and can wrap up the seventh seed with a win over South Kingstown on Tuesday night.

“The team played with great energy,” said head coach Dave Landoch. “It was an overall team victory.”

White, the Tigers’ senior point guard scored 13 of his game high 17 points in the first half. He sank a pair of free throws in the first quarter, then heated up in the second as he drained a 3-pointer and scored 8 more points. Tyler Landoch scored 6 points, Jason Potvin netted 5 and Ryan Poland added 4 points as Tiverton took a 30-24 lead at halftime.

Pasquale took over and scored all 16 of his points in the second half.  The speedy junior guard who sports a red streak in his blonde hair, drained four 3-pointers and drove to the hoop twice for buckets. White scored 4 more points, Ben Pacheco sank a pair of free throws and a jumper, Nate Sama netted three of four free throws and Poland put in a layup.

“I am proud of how hard the guys have worked this season,” said Coach Landoch.

The Tigers had won just 4 games the last two years, Coach Landoch is hoping for win number 12 tomorrow.
