Tiverton police logs: Man charged vandalizing neighbor's camera

Tuesday, Oct. 15

A Fish Road resident reported being harassed/threatened just before 11 a.m. A similar call came in from the same location just after 5 p.m.

An animal complaint came in from Riverside Drive at 12:10 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Jaylen M. Butler, 20, of 16H Dwyer Drive, Apt. J, was charged with reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, second or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Fish Road at 12:28 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an unwanted person on Canonicus Street at 6:22 a.m.

Police warned a driver after a 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Green Court at 10:24 a.m.

Aaron M. Costa, 50, of 51 Francis Lane, Little Compton, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over on Stafford Road at 1:44 p.m., after a caller asked that police check the condition of a driver.

Thursday, Oct. 17

A caller reported a drug/narcotics violation at a Stafford Road business at 1:47 p.m., but police said the call unfounded.

Christopher J. Almeida, 50, of 30 Furey Ave., was charged with two counts of vandalism at 2:48 p.m. after police said a neighbor called to report that he damaged a security camera by spraying some type of liquid on and into it.

A caller from Bulgarmarsh Road reported harassment and threats at 2:48 p.m., but police said no offense had occurred.

A 911 caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 3:30 p.m., but police could not locate the subject vehicle.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on East Road at 4:08 p.m.

A resident’s 4:38 p.m. call regarding a suspicious person at Grinnell’s Beach proved unfounded, police said.

A caller from Meadow View Lane asked police to help keep the peace at 4:41 p.m.

An animal complaint came in from Colonial Avenue at 11:28 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 18

A Stone Church Road resident reported a scam at 1:48 p.m. Similar reports came in from Stafford Road (4:27 p.m.) and Lincoln Avenue (5:08 p.m.).

Police investigated a caller’s report of suspicious activity on North Christopher Avenue, but deemed the 1:59 p.m. call unfounded.

An animal complaint came in from the Sakonnet Bridge at 5:42 p.m.

Cory D. Pereira, 44, of 355 Lawton St., Apt. 3, Fall River, was charged with reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, after police pulled him over on Stafford Road at 8:12 p.m.

A 911 call regarding an erratic driver on Main Road was unfounded, police said following the 8:18 p.m. call.

A 911 caller reported a domestic disturbance on Windwood Drive, but police made no arrests following the 9:13 p.m. call.

Saturday, Oct. 19

A noise complaint came in from Mill Street at 12:02 a.m., as well as another at 8:26 p.m. on North Christopher Avenue.

A 911 caller filed an animal complaint from Route 24 at 4:12 a.m.

Shane R. Simoes, 41, of 93 Osborne St., Westport, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court bench warrant at 12:20 p.m.

Jody R. Lancaster Jr., 35, of 301 Bulgarmarsh Road, Apt. 15, was charged with domestic assault by strangulation, domestic simple assault or battery, and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to a Bulgarmarsh Road home at 3:53 p.m.

A caller from Seapowet Avenue reported a weapons violation at 5:24 p.m., but police said no police action was necessary.

Sunday, Oct. 20

A caller from Neck Road reported harassment/threats at 7:44 a.m.

A caller from East Borne Avenue reported vandalism at 4:18 p.m.

An animal complaint came in from Old Main Road at 5:12 p.m.
