Sheila Bridge Lewis DeMello, 78, of Little Compton

Sheila Bridge Lewis DeMello died July 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1940 and was a resident of Little Compton, RI for more than 50 years.

Sheila is survived by her son Scott (Julia) Lewis, daughters Susan Lewis and Sandra (Leo) Kennedy, grandchildren Monica, Elizabeth (Daniel), Nicole (Andrew) and Christopher (Sara) and great-grandchildren Liliana, William and Reya. She was the wife of the late Antone DeMello.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, Aug. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Ave., Little Compton, R.I. Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Center, 249 Roosevelt Ave., Unit 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
