Richard Frederick Rogers, 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at his home in Tiverton, surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday, April 24, 2020.

Dick was born in Fall River, a son of the late Michael Rogers and Ethel (Wilbur) Rogers. He was the husband of the late Joyce K. (Kilroy) Rogers. At the time of her death, they had been married for 64 years.

Richard (US Navy, Lt. Cmdr. retired) and his wife Joyce (US Navy LTJG), both veterans, met and married while both were serving at the Pentagon.

Residents of Little Compton for many years, Dick and Joyce owned and operated the Fo'c's'le Restaurant on Sakonnet Point, as well as Compton Construction Company with their seven children working with them.

Dick served on many boards in Little Compton. Although Dick and Joyce traveled all seven continents, Dick said his greatest accomplishment was marrying Joyce.

Dick is survived by his seven children, Lydia Rogers, Michael Rogers  (Kristi Rogers), Mary Rogers (Kevin Bowen), Beryl Borden (Albert Borden), Richard Rogers (Fatima Rogers), Veronica Rogers and Lea Rogers (USAF Major, ret.), along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dick was also the brother of the late Lorraine Rogers Goulart.

Funeral arrangements are by Fern Acres Funeral of Little Compton.
