To the editor:
The Tiverton recall vote is now history and Mr. Coulter and Mr. Katz have been resoundingly removed from office.
The voters, whom they had been actively advising to disenfranchise themselves by not voting, went to the polls and exercised their Constitutional right to vote. The Democratic process prevailed as it should.
The actual vote was much more of a landslide, in favor of recall, then many thought it would be and, even though only 13% of the registered voters actually voted, almost all of them voted in favor of recall. This speaks volumes about the attitude of Tiverton residents toward
these two gentlemen.
Mr. Katz can continue to blame a biased media and all those who spoke out against him, whom he portrayed as purveyors of inaccurate and misleading statements and lies, all he wants but the reality is that many of us didn't believe him or trust him enough to allow him to remain in office. His actions while in office were his undoing and he should accept that instead of blaming everyone else for his shortcomings.
But beware Tiverton, I'm sure he has a plan of action and more cards to play. This isn't over by a long shot.
