PORTSMOUTH/TIVERTON — A leaky roof didn’t dampen the spirits of Portsmouth High School thespians.
When the recent mishap put the Kate Grana Auditorium at PHS temporarily out of commission, they took their show on the road.
The school’s first musical in six years, “Sister Act!,” was staged three consecutive nights, April 3-5, at Tiverton High School, and was a rousing success.
Monica Taft and Danielle Griese directed the musical (Kasey Quinn was student director), based on the hit 1992 film of the same name. The story follows a disco singer who was placed in protective custody in a convent after witnessing a murder. She finds her calling by revitalizing the struggling church choir, ultimately helping the sisters find their voices — and herself.
