Thursday, June 3
After being called to Old Stone Church Road at 2:37 am to check on a suspicious vehicle, police charged Peggy Anne Giaconetti, 25, of 102 Thibault Lane, Tiverton with narcotics possession.
Friday, June 4
Eric F. Gustafson, 66, of 30 Long Pasture Road, Little Compton, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of liquor, blood alcohol concentration unknown. Police had responded to a report of a single car motor vehicle accident at the corner of Warrens Point Road and Sakonnet Point Road at 11:40 pm.
Saturday, June 5
At 8:37 pm, a caller told police that her sister will not let her retrieve her bed from the residence.
Monday, June 7
Police and rescue were called to South Shore Beach at 12:06 pm for multiple reports that a car had run over a woman sitting on the beach. Police said later that a 71-year-old woman did not put her vehicle in park and it rolled from the parking lot down the beach to the water’s edge. The victim, a 23-year-old Riverside resident, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries (police did not have information on her condition as of Monday, June 13). The car was towed off the beach by Tiverton Auto Body and driven away under its own power. The driver was checked by Tiverton Rescue but did not require treatment. No charges were filed.
At 5:03 pom, police and rescue received reports of a single car motor vehicle accident with air bag deployment in the area of 109 Sakonnet Point Road. The vehicle hit the curb and took out some mailboxes and a sign. The driver, who was out of the car when police arrived, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital but the ambulance was diverted to Newport Hospital.
At 5:21 pm, a found wallet was dropped off at the station. Its owner retrieved it the next day.
Thursday, June 10
At 10:37 am, a vehicle struck a deer on Peckham Road. The deer was killed and the car was damaged.
